17-year-old found dead in Benton Harbor, cause of death under investigation

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- Officers responded to the 100 Block of Parker Street for a welfare check of a person lying in an alley Saturday morning around 8:45 a.m.  

Upon arrival officers discovered at 17-year-old Benton Harbor man deceased by suspicious means.

Officers processed the scene with the assistance of the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department.

The deceased male was taken to Kalamazoo for an autopsy and cause of death determination.

Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety will not be releasing the victim’s name at the family request.
