Teenager sustains head injuries after snowmobile accident

CROWN POINT, Ind. -- A teenager from Crown Point was injured in a snowmobile accident just before the weekend.

The DNR just released the information today. The 14-year-old girl hit a tree in her yard. It's reported that she wasn't wearing a helmet. After hitting the tree she also ran into a wooden fence.

She suffered several head injuries and was air-lifted to a hospital in Chicago. As of Sunday morning she is expected to make a full recovery.
