ELKHART, Ind., --Michiana leaders are meeting with the RV Industry Association for a power breakfast.
The tenth annual event features remarks from Senators Todd Young and Mike Braun, Congresswoman Jackie Walorski and economist Todd Moore. Thursday’s breakfast helps people in the industry better understand industry trends and critical information that could impact the industry.
The RV industry greatly impacts job growth in the Elkhart region, something leaders say is vital to our local economy and its future. The industry has seen some supply chain issues that economists expect will ease up in the near future. Still, that did not stop production from reaching new records during the pandemic. Now, leaders hope to discuss what’s expected for the RV industry in the next year or so.
When compared to last year, RV distribution and production has grown as more people are driven to take trips year-round. Compared to March 2021, RV distribution has grown by nearly 19 percent.
Before the pandemic, outdoor activities were on the decline; but since 2020, more families are getting outdoors. That trend is expected to continue through 2028 according to global market insights.
