Te'o a finalist for three awards
NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- The Irish are ready to make a run for the national championship. But Notre Dame's Manti Te'o is in the running for a few more trophies of his own.
The Irish linebacker is a finalist for three awards.
The 2012 Maxwell Award for the nation's best all around player. Te'o is the only defensive player among the finalists for the award.
He is also a finalist for the 2012 Chuck Bednarik Trophy. That award goes to the defensive player of the year.
And he is also a finalist for the 2012 Butkus Trophy for the nation's top linebacker.
