Texas father receives gift of life from son

VICTORIA, Texas -- A Texas firefighter is coming to the rescue with a very special donation for his own father.

James Addock was diagnosed with Cirrhosis and Hepatitis C caused by the tattoos he did himself back in the 70's.

Last year he was told he would need a new liver if he wanted to live and he never thought it would come from his own son. 

"I thought well, you know, maybe it's just my time to go, you know? But they said no dad you need to think about this you know. We want you to stick around for a while," said Addock.

Firefighter Justin Addock plans to donate part of his liver to save his dad.

Addcock says he is now waiting for surgery and is forever grateful for his son’s donation.
