Texas governor preparing for court date

AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas Governor Rick Perry was indicted by a grand jury on one count of coercion of a public official and one count of abuse of official capacity.

The case stems from an incident involving the Austin District Attorney.

The DA was arrested in 2013 for allegedly driving drunk. She refused to resign her position.

Perry is accused of trying to force the DA out of her position by cutting funds to her office.

Perry was booked on August 19 in Austin.
