MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The 26th annual Michiana Chili Cookoff took place today, as eight different teams competed to see who is the best at chili making.
Notre Dame's Culinary Program came in third place, with Caracas Bistro taking second place, and Ivy Tech winning for the second straight year in a row.
All of the chili's in the cookoff this year, featured vastly different flavors, showcasing the range of the dish.
"We've got a Hungarian chili. There is a Irish shepherd's pie. There's an Indian chili. There are a couple butternut squash ones. Chili is one of those things where it's like you said, anybody's taste you can make it your own, and it's anybody's game at this point, right? Everybody's it's been incredible. I think we raised some really good money today and definitely impacted some taste buds," stated Adjunct Professor for Ivy Tech Sara Frushour.
The chili that won the popular vote among the crowd, the Texas style chili.
