The 39th annual Osceola Music Festival expands their genre beyond Bluegrass

OCEOLA, Ind. - The 39th annual Osceola Music Festival is buzzing to the rhythm of Motown, rock, Bluegrass music and more!

With eight different performers, stretching from Friday, August 11 to Sunday, August 13, the festival also offers a frog jumping contest, food eating contest and the crowing of this year's king and queen of the festival.

ABC57's Dante Stanton spoke with two of the event's co-chairs Randy Leliaert and Tom Krueger.

"The festival has evolved from the Bluegrass Festival," said Krueger. This is first year they've switched up the music offering contemporary music with local bands and Bluegrass music featured on Sundays.

It's also the place to eat. With eight food vendors ranging from elephant ears to barbecue to brunch fries, Leliaert encourages you to "smother your fries with all kinds of delicacies."

This free event, held at Hunsberger Park (202 N. Lamport St.) is a summer highlight and "brings people back to Osceola," said Krueger.
