BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- The 5th annual Love Biketober Fest took over Berrien Center today, raising money for the Michiana Bike Coalition, a group that supports and sponsors cycling throughout the entire region.
The paths you could take your bike down included a few gravel routes that ranged from 13 to 32 miles, and some road paths that ranged from 25 to 52 miles.
All of the paths being supported by the Michiana Bike Coalition continue to push for higher safety among bikers of all ages.
"Yeah, more like the safety we do helmet programs with school kids. We do some awareness and educational programs. The biggest thing and what people probably see the most are bike paths, bike trails, things like that, route markings, where you see a bike lane. We're not actually doing that, but we're advocating and helping to support that," stated the Event Director for Love Biketober Fest Rob Shellhammer.
After riding through one of the bike paths, the fest also provided food off the grill to help the community get their energy up after time on their bikes.
