The Lerner Theatre cancels events through end of 2020

The Lerner Theatre has cancelled all events for the rest of the year, including the Crystal Ballroom, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Although their events are commercial or special events, management and the governing board made the decision to cancel events through the rest of the year.

Ticket holders will receive communications for those dates.

“This was a hard, yet very easy, decision to make. It feels irresponsible to continue to try and hold events in our facility while at the same time, our community leaders and health officials are asking the public to make some hard decisions about gatherings during the upcoming holiday season. The health and safety of our community is of the utmost importance and as a public assembly facility, we had to make this decision in the best interest of our community’s health,” said Michelle Frank, Executive Director of The Lerner.

“We greatly appreciate this difficult decision made by The Lerner and the Crystal Ballroom. Throughout this crisis, we have made extraordinary sacrifices for the sake of public health, and this decision is no different. We thank our community for their understanding and their flexibility. We encourage everyone to keep up their mitigation steps so we can enjoy the Lerner once again in 2021,” Mayor Rod Roberson said.
