The REES Cinema to open its doors for a progress tour

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. – The REES Cinema Theatre in downtown Plymouth is about ready to open its doors for a progress tour on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 4 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

This tour is to show all of the updates and renovations the theatre has undergone since closing its doors in April of 2017.

In the spring of 2017 The Rees was enrolled as a member of The League of Historic American Theatres.

Most recently, the Marshall Country Crossroads – Indiana Steller Initiative selected The REES as a hallmark project in the city of Plymouth. If awarded this grant, phase four will be out for bid this fall, which will complete the buildout of the interior for an adjusted opening date in summer 2021.

This community venue will support film presentations, the performing arts, education and a gathering space to celebrate life events.

Project members will be manning stations throughout the building to direct individuals and to answer any questions they might have and a ‘free will’ offering accepted.

Masks are required for this event, social distancing is encouraged and hand sanitizer will be available.
