MISHAWAKA, Ind. - The VFW Post 360 hosted a free dinner for veterans Thanksgiving Day, even accepting walk-ins.
One veteran, Raymond Gervais, really appreciated the support shown saying they're like a happy family.
“We do things for each other and anybody that needs help,” he said.
The dinner provided a spread of turkey, ham, noodles, pumpkin pie and cheesecake, even providing some groceries.
Linda Miles, the Trustee for the Auxiliary, loves the opportunity to bless local veterans.
“It's priceless to see the looks on their faces families coming into to see their boxes and they didn’t realize they were getting so much,” she said.
The VFW of Mishawaka is looking forward to next year's Thanksgiving celebration.
