Power restored to most customers in Michiana following severe storms

Power has been restored to all but a few hundred customers following Wednesday night's storm.

According to I&M, thunderstorms in Michiana caused widespread tree damage and multiple broken poles.

About 8,000 I&M customers lost power. 

By 11 a.m., power was restored to all but 400 customers in southwest Michigan.

South Bend and Elkhart I&M crews were joined by workers from Michigan, Fort Wayne and Muncie in order to repair the damage.
