Thousands of dollars raised for Michiana fallen military hereos

SOUTH BEND, IN -- Hundreds of local motorcycle riders revved up their engines and hit the road to honor local military heroes.


This is the 10th year for the Fallen Heroes American Legion Ride but the first time organizers believe they hit a new participant record with more than 500 registered riders.


David Thompson the Communications Director with the American Legion Riders Post 308 said, "We call it the Fallen Heroes Ride."


Malisa Regenos the coordinator of the event said, "This ride has been going on for 10 years."


Hundreds of bikers throughout Michiana rolled in to the Portage Avenue Walmart parking lot Sunday morning.


Thompson said, "It's a 60 mile ride. We end up out at the Post, Post 308 in Osceola."
