Thousands of families owe merry Christmas to Salvation Army

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- Thousands of St. Joseph County families are experiencing the spirit of giving.

On Wednesday, the Salvation Army distributed the gifts and food that they have been collecting this holiday season.

"This is the exciting, fun day where people come and we get to see them smile and they get to take toys off of the table and they know that they're going to have a Merry Christmas,” said Major Bob Webster of the Salvation Army.

About 3,300 children signed up for the toy shopping spree.
