UPDATE: Thousands of Michiana residents remain without power following overnight thunderstorms
UPDATE: As of 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Indiana Michigan Power is reporting that there are approximately 5,500 customers who remain without power.

Michigan
- Buchanan - 3,600
The estimated time of restoration for both areas is 10 p.m.
UPDATE: As of 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Indiana Michigan Power are reporting 3,380 customers without power in the South Bend Area, and 4,600 without power in the Buchanan, Mich. area.
ORIGINAL: Thousands of residents across Michiana remain without power Wednesday morning, following the severe thunderstorms overnight.
There have also been multiple reports of storm damage in the affected areas.

I&M officials say they expect to have power restored to almost all customers by 10 p.m., Wednesday.
I&M officials say more than 600 workers are making progress restoring power to customers.
As of 10:30 a.m., officials say approximately 8,500 customers are without service with most of the hard-hit areas being South Bend and Buchanan.
I&M employees from Fort Wayne, Marion, and Muncie are helping with restoration efforts.
