Three arrested following police pursuit from Michigan to Indiana
LA GRANGE COUNTY, Ind. -- Three people were taken into custody after allegedly leading multiple police agencies on a pursuit from Michigan to La Grange County, Indiana.
The pursuit began with officers with the Three Rivers Police and White Pigeon Police Friday around 8:30 p.m.
The pursuit ended at SR 120 and CR 300 West when the vehicle struck stop sticks placed by the La Grange County Sheriff's Department and La Grange Police, according to the sheriff's department.
Once the car stopped, the driver, later identified as 30-year-old Rachel Sue Hicks, allegedly ran from the scene. She was apprehended by officers and two civilians.
The front seat passenger, 34-year-old Lawrence Wright, and the passenger in the back seat immediately surrendered to law enforcement.
During a probable cause search of the car after a K-9 alerted on the vehicle, officers located methamphetamine, marijuana, and hypodermic needles, reports said.
Hicks was taken into custody on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, possession of hypodermic needles, maintaining a common nuisance, resisting law enforcement, criminal recklessness, and false informing.
Wright was taken into custody on a preliminary charge of visiting a common nuisance.
Latour was taken into custody on a preliminary charge of visiting a common nuisance.
