Three Battle Creek residents arrested in August 2014 murder
VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. -- Three people have been charged in the murder of 56-year-old Scott Taylor, who was killed in his Bloomingdale home in August 2014, according to the Van Buren County Sheriff's Department.
Around 2:30 a.m. on August 21, 2014, the victim's son and a friend came home and found Taylor slumped over and unresponsive.
Taylor's son performed CPR until EMS arrived. EMS attempted to revive the victim, but their attempts were unsuccessful.
The autopsy determined Taylor died of a single gunshot wound to the chest.
In late January and early February 2018, three Battle Creek residents were arrested and charged in Taylor's murder.
- Amber Marie Roberts, 42, charged with one count of homicide open murder and 2 counts of armed robbery
- James Robert Eakins, 40, charged with one count of homicide open murder and 2 counts of armed robbery
- Brandon Trae Robertson, 32, charged with one count of homicide open murder and 2 counts of armed robbery
All three suspects were arraigned in South Haven District court and are currently being held in the Van Buren County Jail without bond.
