Three people arrested after police find methamphetamine, paraphernalia in motel room
ELKHART, Ind. – Three people were arrested after police found drugs and drug paraphernalia inside a motel room on Saturday, the Elkhart Police Department reported.
At 12:16 a.m., an officer was patrolling in the 2900 block of Cassopolis Street when he saw a man acting suspiciously after parking a vehicle in a fast food restaurant’s parking lot.
A witness told a second officer she saw a man hide a bag by the restaurant’s dumpsters but that he picked the bag back up and ran north when police drove past.
The same man the first officer saw leaving the vehicle in the parking lot was then seen running up the stairs and knocking on a room at a motel.
Officers got a search warrant for the room and found marijuana, methamphetamine, and paraphernalia, reports said.
Three people were arrested in connection to the investigation.
Michael Raeder, 29, of Elkhart, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.
Erika Salazar, 25, of South Bend, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.
Brett Rosendahl, 20, of Elkhart, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and controlled substance – manufacture paraphernalia.
