27th Annual Michiana Chili Cook-Off this Sunday
2024 has been a feast for the eyes across Michiana skies. From the total solar eclipse to multiple vibrant viewings of the aurora borealis, our skies have put on show after show. And for the next few days, another noteworthy celestial sight is visible: Comet A3.
This comet (full name: Tsuchinshan-Atlas) has technically been visible since October 12. Numerous viewers have been sending in photos of the comet, best viewed by long-exposure photography.
However, your opportunity to view the event that won't happen again for another 80,000 years is fading fast.
Though the comet will technically still be visible until October 24, it will fade in brightness up until that point. Look west about 45 minutes after sunset as twilight begins to fade.
Feel free to send your comet photos to us by email at [email protected] or through our weather app!
