Tom Harmon recognized at the Michigan game Saturday night

ANN ARBOR, Mich. --- Devin Gardner helped recognize Tom Harmon, the Wolverine's first Heisman Trophy winner.

Harmon was recognized by the University of Michigan before the game for being the first to win a Heisman for the university in 1940.

Gardner will wear Harmon's former number for the rest of his career.

"That's just the ultimate athlete and a great person who fought for our country so just for my coach and for the Harmon family to say that I'm worthy of wearing this jersey, it's just amazing for me that they see he as that type of person," said Devin Gardner who is the Michigan Quarterback.

Gardner says he is honored to have the privilege to wear number 98.
