Tow to Go provides safe, free ride home Memorial Day Weekend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – As Memorial Day approaches, 37 million travelers are expected to drive this holiday weekend.

AAA and Auto Club Group Traffic Safety Foundation are encouraging motorists to plan ahead to get home safely.

To help motorists get to their destinations AAA, The Auto Club Group Traffic Safety Foundation and Budweiser will be offering their Tow to Go program this weekend.

Starting Friday May 25 to Tuesday May 29 Tow To Go will be available in South Bend and Fort Wayne by calling 855-2-TOW-2-GO or 855-286-9246.

Tow to Go’s aim is to prevent drivers who are impaired from getting behind the wheel by providing a confidential and free ride to their destination within 10-miles.

Director of Public Affairs, Beth Mosher said, “We want everyone to have a safe Memorial Day weekend, and we urge travelers to make arrangements for safe transportation and to avoid driving impaired.Tow to Go is a lifesaving resource for people who need a secure way to get home without putting someone’s life at risk.”

Tow to Go claims to have safely taken 25,000 impaired drivers from roads across the Midwest and Southeast since 1998.

Services provided:

  • Free and available to AAA members and non-members
  • Confidential local ride to a safe location within 10 miles
  • Tow to Go may not be available in rural areas or during severe weather conditions
  • The AAA tow truck takes the vehicle and the driver home
