Tractor pulling manure spreader crashes into utility pole, driver flees scene

LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. -- The LaGrange County Sheriff's Office received a call around 7:15 a.m. this morning reporting a hit and run that happened in the 5200 block of East 200 South.

"An investigation revealed that David V. Miller had been driving a tractor pulling a manure spreader," LaGrange County Sheriff's Department Deputy Chris VanGompel said. "Miller’s vehicle left the road and struck a telephone pole. The pole was broken in half and power was lost to surrounding homes. Miller did not remain at the scene."

Officers say they located Miller soon after, and he was arrested and booked into the LaGrange County Jail on a charge of Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident.
