Traffic accident leaves two cows injured

ELKHART, Ind.-- A man was in a car accident this morning, but not for hitting another car.
He struck not one but two cows that had wandered into the road.
It happened on State Road 13 around 10 pm last night.
Two cows wandered out of a cornfield on to the road.
The 25-year-old driver tried to swerve and stop but couldn't avoid colliding with the cows.
He was taken to goshen hospital but later released.
The cows' owner was notified that his animals escaped.
