Trees planted in new Notre Dame neighborhood

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- If you take a drive down State Road 23, near the five points intersection, you might notice some new greenery.

These new trees sit on top of a dirt mound, blocking the new neighborhood from the busy traffic.

ABC 57 News talked to construction workers. They said the trees were planted a couple of days ago.

Some of the homes are almost ready to move into, but workers on the site said it will be quite some time before people live in the new neighborhood in Notre Dame's backyard.
