Trey Nichols sentenced to 3 to 10 years in prison for 'sextortion' crimes

NILES, Mich -- Another teen was sentenced in what's become known as the Niles ‘sextortion’ case.

Trey Nichols was sentenced to three to 10 years in prison.

He is eligible for probation after three.

He and four of his friends were accused of secretly videotaping a girl having sex and then threatening to post the video on Facebook if she did not have sex with all of them.

"I admit I should be punished. I even wrote it in my letter to you and to everybody. I admit I should be punished. I shouldn't go home today. I know that," admitted Nichols.

Nichols originally faced life in prison but took a plea deal in November.

There is still one more defendant to be sentenced.

Martell Miller is set to hear his punishment on Jan. 30.
