Truck crashes into barn off CR 17

A driver was injured when his pickup truck hit another vehicle and a barn off CR 17 Thursday morning.

The crash happened around 7:15 a.m. on CR17 near Bridgewood Drive, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies say the driver of the pickup, 31-year-old Seth Merrill, was traveling northbound on CR17 near Bridgewood Drive when his vehicle crossed left of center, went off the roadway, returned to the roadway and rear ended another vehicle also traveling northbound on CR17.

Merrill's truck continued off the roadway and hit the side of a barn.

Merrill was transported to the hospital by air ambulance.
