Truck Driver arrested for OWI on Indiana Toll Road

ST.JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- A California truck driver is in jail for OWI after a traffic stop on the Indiana Toll Road Monday night.

At approximately 8:30 p.m.,  31-year-old semi driver Dmario Cunningham, was allegedly speeding in a construction zone going westbound near the 77.2 mile marker, according to Indiana State Police. 

A trooper observed the driver commit multiple traffic violations.

During a traffic stop, the trooper reported an alcohol smell and possible signs of intoxication coming from the driver.

An additional trooper assisted at the scene and performed an inspection on Cunningham.

During this inspection, troopers learned that Cunningham had been driving for more than 24 hours and allegedly had a BAC of .15.

Cunningham was incarcerated at the St. Joseph County Jail, cited with several infractions and charged with operating while intoxicated and operating while intoxicated with endangerment.
