ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- Kids at Silver Beach Tuesday got a special treat. The Sarett Nature Center in Benton Harbor brought turtles to the carousel.
Dozens of kids got to see and touch the turtles.
This great Turtle Day is a part of a week-long Native American spring break celebration.
Kids will get a chance to learn about local Native American culture in a more hands-on way.
"The kids love it! Chuck is doing bird calls and frog calls. We are in the beginning of spring, the frogs are calling and the birds are coming back," said Matt Hayes, naturalist.
The fun continues Wednesday with Totem day. That runs from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the same location.
