TV icon Andy Griffith passes away

One of TV's favorite dad's has passed away.

Actor Andy Griffith passed away at the age of 86.

He won the hearts of viewers as Sheriff Andy Tayor in the "The Andy Griffith Show" and then made a come back in the 1980s as a lawyer on "Matlock."

Griffith started off as a high school music teacher.

He got his first break with a funny radio monologue about football.

Tomorrow Me-TV, digital channel 57.2 will air a special tribute to Griffith from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. showing re-runs of "The Mod Squad," "Gomer Pyle, USMC" and "Make Room for Daddy." All of which Griffith guest starred.
