Patricia Goodison Gabriel Elswick
ELKHART, Ind. – Two people were arrested following a 911 hang up call at an apartment on Wednesday, the Elkhart Police Department reported.

At 11:20 p.m., an officer was called to the area of Prospect and Crawford Streets for a 911 hang up call.

When officers arrived, they heard a woman crying and a man yelling in an apartment in the 800 block of Prospect Street.

A man answered the door and allegedly wouldn’t let officers inside or call for the woman to come to the door so police could investigate, according to reports.

Officers handcuffed the man, later identified as 43-year-old Gabriel Elswick of Elkhart, and entered the apartment to check on the woman.

The woman, later identified as 32-year-old Patricia Goodison of Elkhart, was hiding behind a bedroom door, refusing to come out, reports said.

Another woman in the apartment said Goodison was the one hitting Elswick, reports said.

While detaining and trying to remove Goodison from the apartment, she allegedly resisted police and kicked an officer, according to reports.

Goodison was arrested on the charges of resisting law enforcement, battery on a police officer, and domestic battery. She was also arrested on outstanding warrants.

Elswick was arrested on the charge of resisting law enforcement.
