Two arrested on the Toll Road for several drug charges
STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. – A St. Joseph County man and woman were arrested early Monday morning on the Toll Road.
Indiana State Trooper Finley arrested the pair on multiple charges dealing with meth, heroin, and other drugs.
The trooper stopped a truck for registration violations near Fremont around 2:15 a.m.
The scent of marijuana was clearly coming from the passenger’s compartment of the truck which lead to a vehicle search, according to ISP.
100 grams of methamphetamine, heroin, marijuana, prescription pills, and drug paraphernalia were obtained during the search.
Arnold Scott, 58, of South Bend and Acasia Haynes, 18, of Mishawaka were booked into the Steuben County Jail for the following charges:
Arnold Scott (Driver)
- Dealing Methamphetamine, Level 2 Felony
- Possession of Methamphetamine, Level 3 Felony
- Possession of Heroin, Level 6 Felony
- Driving While Suspended, Class A Misdemeanor
- Possession of Marijuana, Class B Misdemeanor
- Possession of Paraphernalia, Class C Misdemeanor
Acasia Haynes (Passenger)
- Dealing Methamphetamine, Leve 2 Felony
- Possession of Methamphetamine, Level 3 Felony
- Possession of a Legend Drug, Level 6 Felony
- Possession of Marijuana, Class B Misdemeanor
- Possession of Paraphernalia, Class C Misdemeanor
The Michiana locals are held on an $80,000 bond each.
