Two Berrien County citizens awarded for their heroic actions

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – Jeffrey Robinson and Douglas Disterheft were presented with Certificates of Appreciation for their efforts earlier this summer.
On Dec. 10, Berrien County Sheriff L. Paul Bailey presented the two men these awards after they entered murky water in a swamp area in Pipestone Township after noticing a vehicle had crashed into the swampy waters on Aug. 21, 2020.
Because of Robinson and Disterheft’s actions, it was discovered that no individuals were inside the vehicle.
