Two charged with break in at Rural King

Early Tuesday morning, two men were arrested for allegedly breaking into the Rural King on S. 11th Street in Niles.

The Berrien County Sheriff's Office was called to Rural King at 2707 S. 11th Street just after 1 a.m. Tuesday for an activated alarm.

When deputies arrived, they discovered the store had been broken into.

They also learned three people were responsible for breaking into the store.

A deputy responding to the scene saw a vehicle fleeing the area and conducted a traffic stop. One of the occupants ran from the vehicle.

The other two occupants were detained and it was learned they were involved in the break-in at Rural King, according to deputies.

Anthony Haynes and Darek Bullock-Mills, both 19, were arrested and charged with one count of burglary and one count of possession of burglary tools.

An arrest warrant is being sought for the man who fled the scene.
