Two home invasion robberies reported Monday morning

The Elkhart County Sheriff's Department responded to two separate home invasion robberies Monday morning. Deputies are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspects who said their car had broken down.

The first robbery happened at approximately 12:40 a.m. at a residence in the 56000 block of Fountain Row in Elkhart.

The resident, a 72-year-old man, told deputies he opened his door and one of the suspects told him their vehicle had broken down.

The suspects then forced their way into the victim's home, bound him with an electrical cord, and hit him with an object, deputies said.

After taking the victim's wallet and a few other items, the suspects fled his home.

Deputies say the suspects are two white females with blonde hair and one white male.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the robbery.

At approximately 4:55 a.m., deputies responded to a residence in the 57000 block of Hawthorne in Elkhart.

The victims, ages 75 and 69, told police the suspects claimed their vehicle had broken down, then forced their way into their home.

After the suspects were inside, they pushed the victims into a closet and stole unknown items from their home.

The suspects were described as two white females with blonde hair and one white male.
