Two in custody after allegedly pointing firearm at people from stolen vehicle
ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart Police Department reports they received a call about a man pointing a firearm at people near the Dollar General at Baldwin and Johnson Streets on Wednesday around 1:09 p.m.
Police say the suspect vehicle then left the scene.
Officers soon learned the vehicle was a potentially stolen vehicle.
The report states an officer located the vehicle near the Shoe Carnival at 250 E C.R. 6 soon after.
The two suspects had allegedly entered the store, and authorities surrounded and called two out of the building.
The two men exited the building and were taken into custody around 1:44 p.m. in connection with the incident.
No injuries were reported, and police say there is an ongoing investigation.
There is no further danger to the public, according to police.
