Two in hospital after car is hit, pushed into oncoming traffic
Elkhart County deputies responded to a 3-vehicle accident that sent two drivers to the hospital Wednesday.
The call went out around 5:15 p.m. on Old U.S. 20 just east of Ash Road.
The first driver, 46-year-old Steven Hamby of Elkhart, was heading east on Old U.S. Highway 20 when he collided with a vehicle that was stopped in front of him.
Police say the collision caused the front vehicle, driven by 56-year-odl Michael Seeley of South Bend, to go over the center line and into the westbound lane into oncoming traffic.
A third car traveling westbound then hit Seeley’s vehicle as a result of it being pushed left of center.
Seeley and the driver of the third vehicle were transported to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.
