Two injured in crash on the intersection of SR 119 and CR 42
ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – Two people are injured after a crash at the intersection of SR 119 and CR 42 on Sunday around 5:40 pm, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.
A 2017 Dodge Journey was traveling southwest on SR 119, heading towards the intersection of CR 42.
A 2013 Hyundai Veloster was stopped at the east side of the same intersection.
The Hyundai began traveling across the intersection across SR 119, when they were allegedly struck by the Dodge, deputies said.
The driver of the Hyundai, a 68-year-old woman from Columbia City, Ind., had to be transported to the hospital for internal head and neck injuries. She was also cited for failing to yield to a vehicle that did not have a stop sign.
The driver of the Dodge, a 41-year-old woman from Nappanee, drove herself to the hospital for her injuries, according to deputies.
