Two lives cross paths after transplant

FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Two men from Fort Wayne have forged a unique bond. They almost died from the same illness.

Both men needed kidney transplants. They each waited over three years for a donor.

They said before their transplants they each made a deal with God that they say followed through.

"I'm going to start praying for everybody else in the shape that I'm in. And that's what I did," said Mirth Laster. "Actually, it was a miracle; the phone rang exactly the same time I said that, the phone rang. They said 'We have a kidney for you.'"

"I got another chance. It's, it's amazing to get another chance," said Garyon McKee.

Before the operations they were strangers. Now they go to check-ups together, and have formed a friendship they never expected.
