Two men arrested, accused of shooting each other
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Two men who allegedly shot each other early Monday morning were arrested, according to South Bend Police.
Police were called to the area of Huey and Frederickson around 2 a.m. for reports of shots fired.
While en route, officers saw a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and conducted a traffic stop.
A person in the vehicle, Marshawn Lovelady, had gunshot wounds, police said.
He was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
A short time later, Johnnie Jones-Gunn went to another hospital with gunshot wounds to his lower body, police said. He also had non-life threatening injuries.
Police said Lovelady and Jones-Gunn got into a fight and shot each other.
Lovelady was preliminarily charged with criminal recklessness while armed with a deadly weapon and carrying a handgun without a license with prior conviction.
