Two people arrested on drug charges after stolen vehicle located

THREE RIVERS, Mich. -- Two people were arrested on drug and other charges after a stolen vehicle was located in the parking lot of a local motel, according to Three Rivers Police.

The vehicle, reported stolen out of Ft. Wayne, was parked at the America's Best Value Inn on Broadway Street early Sunday morning.

While conducting surveillance on the vehicle, police developed a person of interest.

A K-9 was deployed to check the vehicle for possible narcotics. K-9 Jake alerted to the odor of narcotics, police said.

Inside the vehicle, officers located precursors to the manufacture of meth and meth paraphernalia. They also located properly linked to the person of interest, police said.

Two people were located inside the motel and they were taken into custody.

A 35-year-old Three Rivers man was arrested for receiving and concealing stolen automobile, possession of meth precursors, and parole violation.

A 22-year-old Three Rivers man was arrested for receiving and concealing stolen property, possession of meth precursors, and for absconding parole.

The suspects are also being investigated in Indiana for similar crimes, police said.
