Two people injured in Tuesday morning crash in Elkhart County
ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – One person was injured and another is in critical condition following a crash Tuesday morning at the intersection of C.R. 52 and C.R. 29, the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office reported.
At 10:18 a.m., a 2013 Nissan Altima was traveling westbound on C.R. 52 towards the intersection of C.R. 29.
A 2017 Nissan Rogue was traveling southbound on C.R. 29 towards the intersection of C.R. 52 at the time.
The Altima entered the intersection and failed to stop at the stop sign and failed to yield to the Rogue, resulting in the front end of the Altima striking the driver’s side of the Rogue, according to deputies.
The collision caused heavy damage to both vehicles.
The driver of the Rogue was flown to the hospital and is in critical condition, deputies said.
The passenger of the Rogue was flown to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Altima was cleared by medics and released at the scene. The driver of the Altima was cited for disregarding a stop sign causing bodily injury, deputies reported.
