Two sought after police pursuit, crash

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- A driver and his passenger are being sought after they fled the scene of a crash that happened while they were fleeing deputies with the Berrien County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a 2018 Jeep Cherokee on Main Street near Seeley Street for traffic violations and an invalid Wisconsin plate, reports said.

The driver did not stop and fled south onto Seeley, west on Highland, south on McCord and west on Britain Avenue, reports said.

Deputies terminated their pursuit at Britain Avenue near Packard Street, reports said.

The Cherokee collided with another vehicle at Britain Avenue and Pipestone Street.

The driver and a passenger of the Cherokee fled the scene of the crash, deputies said.

A female passenger who remained in the Cherokee was transported to the hospital.

The driver of the vehicle hit by the Cherokee was also injured and was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies said the suspect vehicle was reported stolen from Madison, Wisconsin.
