Two-vehicle crash in Plymouth results in injuries
PLYMOUTH, Ind. — Early Wednesday morning Marshall County Dispatch received a 911 call regarding a two-vehicle crash in the 12700 block of U.S. 30.
Around 3:32 a.m., officers arrived to the location on U.S. 30 West and Plymouth-Goshen Trail to find two vehicles involved in a collision.
An initial investigation found that a 2006 Saturn driven by Gary W. Altheide, 63, of Culver, Indiana was traveling northeast on Plymouth-Goshen Trail when he failed to yield to a 2012 Volvo semi-tractor, according to a press release.
The Volvo, driven by John C. Hilworth, 27, of New Haven, Indiana was traveling west on U.S. 30.
Authorities say the right angle collision injured Altheide who was transported by helicopter to Memorial Hospital in South Bend.
No word on the condition of the second driver.
Plymouth Fire and EMS, Plymouth Police Department assisted the Marshall County Police Department at the scene.
