SOUTH BEND, Ind. --Ironwood is closed from Hastings to the tracks south of Jefferson for two weeks starting today.
Normally, a road closure on a busy street would make people frustrated, but many people are happy that the railroad tracks are getting worked on.
The railroad company, Canadian National Railroad is doing some maintenance work on the tracks. The railroad will be undergoing surfacing and re-pavement work. So roads will be closed off until September 25.
The detour routes will be Jefferson Boulevard, 26th street, and Mishawaka Avenue to get back on Ironwood.
