SOUTH BEND, Ind.--- South Bend Unity Gardens hosted its inaugural "Procrastination Day," on Tuesday at the South Bend and River Valley Farmers Markets. The event highlighted local business and offered family activities for those getting their last minute shopping done.
Throughout the holiday season, Unity Gardens has been celebrating the businesses and shop that make South Bend unique. Shoppers say they appreciate the emphasis on local businesses.
"It’s great for my girls to see what’s going on in the area so they can have more exposure instead of thinking of going far off places that we can find something in South Bend to do," said George Phillip, who took his daughters to the River Valley Farmers Market.
Although this was the first year for the event, Unity Gardens is hoping "Procrastination Day," becomes a South Bend staple for years to come.
