SOUTH BEND, Ind – A University of Notre Dame Professor remembers the life and service of former President George H.W. Bush.
“The death of former President George H.W. Bush is an end of an era,” University of Notre Dame Political Science Professor Michael Desch said.
Desch worked for President Bush for four years before teaching at Notre Dame and said former President Bushes service is admirable.
“He had always been one of my political heroes and I always admired him from afar and getting to know him personally only increased my estimation of him,” Desch said.
Professor Desch said President Bush advocated for serving the country, his service empowered others behind him and he hopes his life inspires the next generation to be better.
“I hope that this week of commemoration inspires the next generation to become the greatest generation,” Professor Desch said.
