UPDATE: Colorado shooter mailed notebook to psychiatrist at university

COLORADO -- The man accused in the shooting rampage at a movie theater Colorado reportedly sent a notebook to the University of Colorado.

According to reports, the notebook detailed james Holmes' deadly plot and contained full details of how he was going to kill people and even included drawings.

The notebook was reportedly mailed to a psychiatrist at the university.

Some say that it's common for people who carry out mass murders to leave behind some sort of communication.

"After the notebook is checked forensically for DNA, they are going to start going through it looking for preplanning and motivation purchase of weapons," said former FBI special agent Brad Garrett.

Sources say a package arrived on campus on July 12 but was not found until Monday during a search of the mail room

The university called that report "inaccurate" saying the post office delivered the package Monday.
