UPDATE: Neighbors on edge after man shot during home invasion

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- A St. Joseph County man is recovering after police said he was shot in the foot and robbed!

It happened around 8 a.m. on Tuesday.

Police said the 43-year-old homeowner was leaving his Mayflower Road home when two masked men hit him over the head, dragged him inside, and shot him!

Neighbors we talked to are on edge.

"Ugh! I'm going to get stronger locks and I’m going to lock my door every time! Even when I’m home during the day by myself," said Sherri Pauszak.

The two burglars are still on the loose! Police said they got away with an unknown amount of cash.

The victim is expected to be okay.
