SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Family Dollar property has been sold at auction!

It was won at auction by a lone bidder, the Fort Wayne - South Bend Diocese.
The purchased the land for $545,000, the minimum bid.
The city had bought the building for $1.2 million and tried to sell it to St. Joseph High School for $1 as part of a construction plan, but a Federal judge would not allow it. The judge ruled it was a taxpayer gift to a religious institution.
